WE WRITE as representatives of local community groups and concerned local residents in Hayes, to express our concern at the apparent lack of commitment from [Hillindon Council] regarding the future of the Hayes Carnival.
The carnival has been a major feature of local life since the 1950s, and this year will be held on Saturday, July 12.
But the level of council support has made support of the event from our perspective almost impossible.
The local community groups, however, remain fully committed to the carnival, and it will still go ahead this year inspite of all the problems we have had to face.
We hope that you will support this year's carnival and also specifically request that, as a practical expression of this support, all who come out to see the procession in the Uxbridge Road and Grange Road follow along on the footpaths after the last float to Barra Hall Park.
Please support us as we try to ensure the future of The Hayes Carnival both in this and for future years.
