AS SNOW falls across the borough today, Ealing Council has put in place emergency plans to deal with the cold weather.

Council gritters are out on main roads and busy pavements, including those in town centres and near hospitals, stations and schools.

The authority aims to be able to collect waste from most homes, but says some narrow streets or roads on hills 'may be difficult to access.'

It is also asking residents to check elderly or vulnerable neighbours are safe, warm and have essential supplies.
