A motor enthusiast from Feltham was horrified when he visited his workshop on Sunday and discovered thieves had made off with around £20,000 of vintage car radiators.
Now Colin Branch, owner of Feltham Radiators Ltd, is appealing for people to look out for the missing parts, which he is worried will be melted down for scrap.
He told the Chronicle: "They forced open the shutter door, I don't know how, and made off with loads of my stock and parts belonging to customers, too. I'm still coming to terms with exactly what's missing. It's just gutting."
Among the parts taken from the premises, on Hampton Farm Industrial Estate, in Hanworth, are five brass Ford Model T radiators dated around 1910, two Ferrari radiators from 1966 and 1969, and one from a 1970 Aston Martin.
"I'd hate to think of them being melted down," said Mr Branch, who has been running the firm since 1987. "Some of them are extremely rare."
Mr Branch believes the thieves struck between 10.30am and 7.30pm on Sunday.
Anyone with information should call Hounslow CID on 020 8247 6160 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Alternatively you can call Mr Branch on 020 8898 0064 if you believe you have spotted one of the missing radiators.
