A CHRISTIAN Centre will be among the first to mark the marriage between Prince William and Catherine Middleton with a party in the borough.

Bell Farm Christian Centre in South Road, West Drayton, is opening its hall to cater for up to 100 guests on the wedding day, April 29.

The centre will also be providing entertainment, a buffet, and transport to and from the centre on the day. The wedding will also be shown live on a big screen in the centre.

The party is aimed at over 50s and their carers, with the wedding to be shown live on a big screen. Donna Rall, manager and outreach worker for older persons, said: "The day is aimed at the elderly, we thought it would be a really nice way for them to spend the day.

"A lot of elderly people don't like walking around in the street, so we decided to hold it in a hall rather than a street party. It might be nicer for people who might otherwise watch it on their own. We will be decorating the hall red, white and blue, and will be providing hats and flags for out guests."

The centre will also hold a raffle, and the Gazette is planning on sending a photographer to the event.

The screening of the wedding begins at 11am, with doors of the centre opening at 10am, to allow time for guests to get comfortable. The day will continue until 4pm, and a raffle will also be held.

Thirty seats have already been taken, so would be guests are advised to book places now. The day will cost £8, and £10 if you wish to be taken to and from the event.
