Retailers who have gamely defied the credit crunch to give Uxbridge shoppers somewhere to spend their money have been rewarded for their efforts.
The Chimes shopping centre launched its Retailer Awards to recognise the outstanding service provided by stores during the last year.
Traders were invited to nominate themselves for categories including Best Customer Service and Greenest Retailer, and prizes were awarded at a recent ceremony.
The winners were: Best Use of Centre Marketing Opportunities: Snappy Snaps Best Window: Disney Store Greenest Retailer: McDonalds Best Merchandised Store: Disney Store Best Use of Local Marketing Campaign and Sales: BHS Best Food Retailer: Pizza Express Best Team: JD Sports Best Customer Service: Regis Best Store Manager: Marie Morley, New Look.

Michelle Moffitt, marketing manager for The Chimes, said: "We are delighted to be able to show our appreciation to our retailers by treating them to some deserved awards.
"We really wanted to show them that it is not all doom and gloom."
Meanwhile, The Sunday Chimes has been set up to give a little extra back to shoppers by running a different promotion every month.
