THREE potential stars of the catwalk have made their next steps towards modelling success after being selected to go through to the Chimes Model Search 2008 finals.

Andrew Marshall, 19, from Hillingdon, Tom Amass, 20, from Hayes, and Kimberley Jules-Crompton, 17, from Uxbridge, are in with a chance of winning a lucrative contract with top London modelling agency, FM Agency.

Two of the hopefuls were chosen by the agency to go through to the finals and the third was selected by public vote from Gazette readers, online and in The Chimes.

As part of the finals they will experience 'a day in the life of a model', with professional hair and make up stylists, before being whisked off for a photoshoot, with the winner decided by a public vote.

Assistant marketing manager of The Chimes, Mandy Bhullar, said: "We were pleased with the calibre of contestants at the first event taking part and the first round of the competition has been a great success."

Two more rounds will take place, on Saturday and then on August 30, before the finals take place on September 15.

Hundreds of hopefuls are expected at the heats. Contestants can register on the day from 11am-noon.

As well the opportunity to win a modelling contract, the two overall winners will receive £250 in gift vouchers for The Chimes, and Boots and Tony & Guy gift packs.
