CHILDREN told an alternative Christmas tale for their school production.
Boys and girls from Harefield Junior performed three shows of The Story of Babushka, the Russian Christmas story.
The key parts were all played by glove puppets, which told of Babushka’s journey to be at the birth of Christ in Bethlehem.
Members of the school orchestra supported the show and some pupils gave solo musical performances.
The show finished with a dance routine by the cast of puppets.
Headteacher Paul Dodd said: “This has been a great team effort, with the children learning the songs and the orchestra learning the piece for weeks.
“The poor puppeteers and narrators had much less time!
“The show was a great success and enjoyed by the whole community.”
