A motorcyclist has died after being hit by a car on Wednesday morning (October 4).

At 6.41am on Wednesday (October 4) police were called to a collision between a Toyota Prius and a Honda motorcycle on Cheyne Walk at Chelsea Embankment.

The motorcyclist was a 35-year-old male who initially suffered head injuries but has now been pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

Chelsea Embankment reopened

Chelsea Embankment reopened to traffic this afternoon after a fatal crash at the Chelsea Embankment junction with Battersea Bridge this morning.

The three cordons in place along Chelsea Embankment following the incident have been lifted and traffic has returned to normal.

A 35-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene following a collision with a Toyota Prius at 6:38 am.

He is yet to be formally identified by the police.

The Toyota driver stopped at the scene of the collision but was not arrested.

A police investigation into what happened has been launched and is ongoing.

No arrests have yet been made.

Roads still closed

Road closures remain in place following the fatal collision on Chelsea Embankment this morning.

The driver is yet to be formally identified and his next of kin have not yet been informed, according to the latest information we have from police.

Officer’s from Chelsea Police are supporting detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, who are investigating the collision.

Police has confirmed to getwestlondon that the 35-year-old motorcyclist has died at the scene of the crash.

His next of kin are yet to be informed.

Police were called to to the scene of a serious collision at the North end of Battersea Bridge at 6.38am on Wednesday (October 4).

They found a 35-year-old male motorcyclist with head injuries.

London Ambulance service also attended the scene and are treating the man.

Traffic is heavy at both ends of Battersea Bridge and several diversions are in place.

Roads closed

Police have closed several roads as they deal with the collision.

Chelsea Embankment is closed Westbound at Albert Bridge and diversions are in place.

Battersea Bridge itself is closed, as is Beaufort Street.
