WITH six weeks to go until Christmas, a local charity is opening its doors to do good work for those in need.

Ealing Charity Christmas Card Shop has been going for nearly a quarter of a century, and once again opened for business earlier this week in South Ealing.

Founder Sue Green said: "We can barely believe how quickly the year has gone, but with Christmas round the corner again we're looking forward to being back at the YMCA when we open for business for our 24th year.

"We're encouraging Ealing residents worried about the postal strike to stop by as soon as possible. We are supporting more than 40 charities this year, so whatever cause you would like to support, we are sure we can help.

"Every penny of the money we raise goes directly to charity, which is possible because of all the hard work of our amazing volunteers. We're aiming to top our record takings of £34,000."

You can visit the shop at St Mary's Road, South Ealing.
