A fantastic £1,500 has been raised for Cancer Research's Harrow branch after an Easter auction had bidders jostling for a luxury, 40cm chocolate egg.

The auction was organised by Hannah David, whose father Raymond Turner died of the disease earlier this year, inspiring her to raise money for the charity.

The Conservative parliamentary candidate for Harrow West said: “I am delighted that my Charity Easter Egg Auction has raised such a substantial amount for such a worthy cause.

"Cancer Research UK do fantastic work across the country, and I look forward to supporting them, and particularly their Harrow branch, in the future.”

Mrs David handed over the cheque to the charity, in Northolt Road, Harrow, on May 1.

The winning bidders re-donated the egg to the Children’s Ward at Northwick Park Hospital, where Mrs David presented it to the children earlier in the week.
