A WOMAN has been seriously injured after apparently jumping from a window during a suicide attempt in Ruislip.

An air ambulance is currently on the scene in High Street, Ruislip, after the unidentified woman fell from the second storey of a block of flats above CS Bedford Jewellers.

Robert Ungar, from the shop, said: "It was 3.55pm exactly because I was serving a customer who had just looked at their watch.

"Someone came running in to say there was a commotion in the street. A woman was threatening to jump and the police were trying to talk her down safely.

"Next thing I heard a thud and everyone was shouting that she had jumped.

"It was an incredible feat to be able to land the helicopter right in the road and last thing I knew was that they were taking her away and that she was still alive.

"There is a lot of blood all over the pavement and the road has been shut by police.

"It's chaos out there right now."

Motorists should avoid the High Street for the present time.
