FUNERAL arrangements have been made for people to pay their last respects to long-serving anti-Heathrow expansion campaigner Ann Sobey.
Mrs Sobey, who was 86, died yesterday (Thursday) in Hillingdon Hospital after suffering from heart problems.
Her husband Bryan spoke to the Gazette about his wife's 'exaggerated sense of duty' which led her to be honorary secretary of Harmondsworth and Sipson Residents' Association for nearly 50 years.
He added: "She always did the right thing and would happily help anyone in whatever way she could.
"I am tremendously proud of her for that. She was a wonderful wife and her death leaves me with a void I will never fill."
Mrs Sobey's funeral will take place on Monday November 3 at 10.45am at St Mary the Virgin Church, Harmondsworth.
This will be followed by a committal at Breakspear Crematorium, in Ruislip.
