A hearing at the Old Bailey into a suspect accused of the murder of a man from Acton did not take place as planned today (August 11).

John Nicholles had been due to appear at the central criminal court today following the death of Peter Charles John on July 23.

But the Old Bailey told the Gazette /  getwestlondon.co.uk  that Nicholles, of no fixed abode, was not listed to appear and did not know when the 52-year-old would next be in court.

He is charged with the murder of 54-year-old Mr John, who received a fatal neck wound while attending a funeral at the City of London cemetery last month.

At his previous court appearance, on July 28 before Thames magistrates, Nicholles was remanded in custody while the case was transferred to the Old Bailey for today's listed hearing.

It is believed Mr John, from East Acton Lane, was injured while attending the funeral of his wife's step-father. He was air-lifted to hospital but died later that day.
