HUNDREDS of people packed into a church alongside several famous faces to pay respect to much loved Chiswick actor Richard Briers.

The funeral of The Good Life star was held on Wednesday at St Michaels and All Angels church in Chiswick close to where he had lived in Bedford Park for 45 years, with his wife, actress Ann Davies.

Many of his fellow stars attended to remember him, including his on-screen wife Felicity Kendal and co-star Penelope Keith.

Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson, Imelda Staunton and Sheila Hancock were also among the congregation who applauded as Mr Briers coffin was taken through the church.

The actor, who was most famous for playing Tom Good in The Good Life, died peacefully last month, aged 79, after battling emphysema for a number of years.
