A CARER from Feltham stealing money from an elderly man was caught red handed by a CCTV camera.
On February 1 this year the MET Police received an allegation that someone was stealing money from an 83-year-old victim.
When the man's children noticed the money had gone missing they set up a CCTV system to identify who was responsible. The recording showed that one of the carers employed to look after the man was removing a pouch containing money.
A spokesman for the police said: "TDC Giles Campling attached to Hounslow Community Safety Unit investigated this crime involving a vulnerable adult. After a thorough and comprehensive investigation, a 38 year old Jackie Mubiru of South Road, Feltham, was arrested and charged with theft."
Mubiru appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates Court on June 30 and admitted a charge of theft. She was given a 12 month conditional discharge.
