TERRIFIED cashiers at a bank in Teddington handed over more than £2,000 after an armed robber demanded cash.

The man calmly waited in the queue at Barclays Bank, in The Causeway, on April 1, and walked over to the counter, where he handed over a piece of paper reading 'I have a gun, give me everything you have'.

The cashier reported seeing him carry a gun-shaped item wrapped in a Tesco carrier bag. He pointed it at her and she gave him around £2,200.

He then made his get away, turning right out of the bank, then right again into Broad Street.

A police spokesman said the robber is linked to similar offences at other banks around Teddington over the last three years, but has not been identified.
