Two people had a miraculous escape after their car burst into flames while they were still inside.

Firefighters spent nearly half an hour tackling this blaze in Wellington Avenue, Hounslow, on Monday night.

Mike Morrison, who lives just four doors away from the site of the blaze, took the dramatic photos after the car caught fire at about 10pm and sent them to the Chronicle via the website.

"It was a big fire and I think it damaged at least two other cars," said the 44-year-old management consultant.

"At one stage one of the firemen got engulfed in flames but luckily he was alright.

"The paramedics told me the fire started with two people inside the vehicle."

A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said it was called just after 10.15pm but nobody required any treatment.
