Name: Chris Whittaker
Party: Liberal Democrats
Age: 29
Lives: Shepherd’s Bush

About: Is passionate about young people. He works with unemployed 18 to 24-year-olds who have completed skills training through his church St Paul’s, Hammersmith.

He says: “I welcome this opportunity to stand up for my neighbours and my local community. The people of Wormholt and White City are being taken for granted by Labour and ignored altogether by the Conservatives. If elected I promise to put local residents first, and will focus in particular on improving facilities for families and young people such as Wormholt Park.

“I will fight to protect our parks, police and health services from cuts and closures. Unlike the Conservative-run council, I will stand up to developers and I will push for fairer housing policies and better traffic and transport links, especially for bus users, cyclists and pedestrians.”

Name: Max Schmid
Party: Labour
Age: 29
Lives: Parsons Green

About: An environmental charity worker who ran for the party in North End ward in 2010. He is also a governor at Queensmill School for autistic children.

He says: “If elected, I will act as a hard-working advocate for the area. I will work closely with local community groups like the Friends of Wormholt Park and Save Our Hospitals and hold surgeries across the ward to learn about residents’ issues and challenges and look for ways to help them.

“Wormholt and White City ward is facing some of the harshest cuts put forward by the Tory council and government – to the NHS, police and social housing. These need to be vocally challenged and I will apply my full energy to do this.”

Name: Jamie McKittrick
Party: Conservative
Age: 31
Lives: West Kensington

About: Grew up in the borough, attending Latymer Upper School, before studying economics at LSE. He is vice-chairman of governors at Normand Croft and is a keen supporter of the council’s drive for high-quality education for all local children.

He says: “I am delighted to be the Conservative candidate for Wormholt and White City ward. This council is cutting tax for ordinary residents, reducing debt and improving services. Council tax is now down 17 per cent under H&F Conservatives, saving the average family over £650. The contrast with Labour’s record couldn’t be more stark. Wormholt is on the up. I want to make sure that hard-working residents keep getting the improvements they deserve.”

Name: Andrew Elston
Party: UKIP
Age: 48
Lives: West Kensington

About: A former teacher born in Fulham who cares for his father locally. As a public involvement worker he has worked in policy research into care in the community.

He says: “I will fight for priority to be given to local residents over the White City redevelopment. To help local shops and businesses, I will fight for the introduction of 20-minute free parking zones. I will fight for police numbers to be maintained to help reduce crime that blights the lives of local people.

"I will fight for better local health provision so people do not have to travel across London for treatment. Vote UKIP and show your local concern over issues such as maintaining our democracy, safe controlled immigration and freedom from the EU. UKIP can make a difference. We are real challengers to the other parties."

The Chronicle contacted the two remaining candidates for the seat – Jeffrey Boateng, of White City, who stands as an independent, and Andrew Donald, of Parsons Green, for the British National Party – but received no reply.
