Harrow's Mayor has called upon Harrovians to capture the borough's linguistic diversity by translating the official motto into as many languages as possible.

Cllr Nana Asante said the recent census showed that there were more than 88 different languages spoken in Harrow, and she wished to create a 'lasting heirloom'.

"Our borough motto in Latin reads ‘Salus Populi Suprema Lex’, in English ‘The Welfare of the People is the Highest Law’.

"I would like us to create a lasting heirloom which will be admired in years to come.

If you are able to provide a translation in any language, please contact us."
