MORE than 200 revellers attended a memorable party held by Harrow Asian Deaf Club.

Drawings of the Queen by Kathrene Borland, 15, Ammaar Hussein, 13, and Rochna Hay, 13, three deaf students at Hatch End High School, adorned Bentley Neighbourhood Resource Centre in Uxbridge Road, Harrow Weald, for Saturday’s event, alongside British flags.

Visitors enjoyed a barbecue, a bouncy castle, face painting and a Diamond Jubilee cake was cut by special guests, the Mayor and Mayoress of Harrow, Councillor Nizam Ismail and his wife Zarafaran, and the Deputy Lieutenant of Harrow, John Purnell, and his wife.

Deaf Bollywood dancer Nehal Bhogaita entertained the crowds, while a royal quiz rounded off the evening.

Club president Asif Iqbal said: “It is an immense pleasure to see a few months of hard work had paid off, with support of all of our volunteers and HADC committee working so hard to make it happen. The sunshine and the arrival of our special guests and special performance by a Bollywood dancer made the event so memorable for everyone.”
