A TAXI driver from Stanmore has stripped for a naked 'cabbie calendar' to raise money for charity.

Colin Sinclare (pictured) has taken part in the fun photoshoot to raise money for the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, which aims to increase personal safety after Suzy, an estate agent went missing in 1986.

Mr Sinclare is one of several daring taxi drivers in the buff for the 2012 calendar, which went on sale just in time for Christmas.

He has been driving a London black cab for more than 27 years, was one of 12 cabbies from hundreds across the capital starring in the nude calendar after answering a call to take part from GetTaxi.

GetTaxi is a company which allows people to book a black cab and see the driver's picture, name, mobile number and reg number as well as track it in real time.

The calendar can be bought online by visiting www.gettaxi.co.uk , and it is hoped more than £10,000 will be raised for the trust.

Mr Sinclare appears posing on the bonnet of his black cab in the month of September and is holding nothing more than a Sloane Square sign to cover his modesty. He chose the sign because it is his favourite London street.

The calendar features a different driver and Street sign every month including Savile Row in January, Downing Street in April and Big Ben in October.

He said: “We all decided that the most effective way to raise some money for charity was to take all our clothes off. I’m not really sure why. But as long as we generate loads of cash then I’ll be happy. I suppose I might get a few funny looks if any of my passengers recognise me from the pictures, but at least they’ll know I’m game for a laugh.”

In addition to posing for his solo shot, he was also required to pose along with his fellow pin-ups in a group shot in public. The picture was taken in front of hundreds of amused tourists and commuters in the chilly December air opposite Tower Bridge in London.

The calendar coincides with the launch of GetTaxi’s new female safety initiative, the 'Closed Door Policy', where the company's drivers have pledged to wait until female passengers are safely behind closed door before leaving.

Neal Fullman, CEO of Get Taxi.co.uk, said: “Our safer taxi initiatives are aimed at women and our drivers wanted to do their bit for charity, so what better way to capture female attention than a calendar featuring our good looking guys who are clearly willing to go to any lengths for a great cause. I’m really proud that GetTaxi has such a supportive bunch of London’s finest licensed taxi drivers.”

The calendar costs £3.
