Jobs are safe, the blue and orange uniforms and colour scheme continues and the shopping centre still known to so many as 'The Chimes' will keep its new name.

It is very much 'business as usual' at intu Uxbridge, the borough's premier shopping mall, after rumours circulating for weeks were confirmed this week.

Malaysian pension fund KWAP has bought an 80 per cent holding in the Uxbridge High Street mall but shoppers will notice little difference.

"Life goes on as normal," said spokeswoman Amanda Campbell.

"We still retain a 20 per cent stake and are managing the centre."
