A burst water main caused massive floods in White City this weekend which are still blocking up roads.

Water rapidly gushed out into Du Cane Road in the early hours of Saturday morning (November 29) after a water main burst, causing about a foot of water to flood the road.

Scrubs Lane and Wood Lane were both closed over the weekend and one lane is now open southbound in Wood Lane but the northbound lane remains closed from the A40 Westway.

People took to Twitter to vent their frustration at the closures, with Lizzie Cooper, tweeting: “The flood isn’t funny anymore. Wood Lane is still closed which means my @YodelOnline won’t be able to get here to deliver my winter ball dress!”

Thames Water are still doing emergency repairs to the water main which included draining the water covering the road.
