Burglars who stole treasured First World War medals from a home in Hounslow have been urged to return the family heirlooms.

The medals, belonging to the victim's grandfather and great grandfather, were stolen last Friday (October 17) between 8am and 7.30pm.

They include the British War Medal, a silver medal with a picture of George V, and the Victory Medal, a bronze medal embossed with the figure of Victory. They were inscribed with the initials and surname of J Rouse and PJ Wilkie.

An engraved gold watch, a small grey safe and £60 was also taken during the burglary.

Trainee Detective Constable Jessie Davis said: "The victims are very keen to have these items returned as they hold great sentimental value."

Anyone with information is asked to call TDC Jessie Davis on 020 8247 6659 or Crimestoppers, free and anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
