A construction company building 25 new affordable homes donated handcrafted timber toys to six children.

Each Christmas Sisk commissions the gifts for young families living in Peabody Estates in Pimlico.

The toys, created by joinery apprentices, included a wooden lorry, pram and doll’s house.

Sisk is converting a 1960s office block in King’s Scholar Passage, off Vauxhall Bridge Road, into new Peabody homes and 267 sqm of new office space. It is due to be completed in January next year.

Patrick Duffy, development manager at the charitable housing trust, said: “It was great to see the site team entering into the Christmas spirit and joy on the children’s faces when the toys were brought out was wonderful.

“It is nice to work with a company that shares Peabody’s commitment to giving back to the community.”
