A BRENTFORD graphics and display company has made it onto the Sunday Times Best Green Companies list for the third year in a row.

After finishing 20th in the list last year, Octink have climbed up to 5th place in the 2011 list which was published last Sunday. They were singled out by the Sunday Times for having the greenest employees of all the entries.

Octink provided branding and graphics services to high profile events including this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, as well as Royal Ascot and the Goodwood Revival and Festival of Speed. They manage everything from signs directing people where to go, to the huge advertising banners at top events. As part of the process, the company was audited for a 2-3 week period, with 70% of the data coming from the employees.

Chief Executive Will Tyler (pictured) said “It’s down to a transparent education system and being able to retain staff”.

“There were more entries than ever and we were against increasingly tough competition as businesses move environmental issues higher up the agenda. Octink are the only company of it’s kind to have made it onto the list and one of only 10 manufacturers and we also beat multi-national companies such as Microsoft”.

This year they provided 4,500 items for the Chelsea Flower Show and were able to recycle 98% of them and constantly encourage companies to return signs and other materials for them to recycle.
