An intrepid trio who work in Brentford are just days away from the start of a huge climb up Mount Snowdon.

The three members of Initial Medical, on Amalgamated Drive, Mark Sims, service manager from Brentford, Mark Barker, service technician from Hayes, and Teresa Jones, service support officer from Edgware, hope to conquer the highest mountain in Wales in a bid to raise money for two charities; Malaria No More and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The group, all in their 40s, who are not into fitness at all have decided to take on the trek to help them get into shape, and will embark on the challenge on Saturday (12).

Mrs Jones who has thrown herself into training said: “I have been walking a local hill every day, and have seen my fitness improve over time.”

They have a target of £1,083 - the height of the mountain in metres - also the tallest point in the UK, outside the Scottish Highlands.

So far they have reached £835 and need your donations to help them achieve their peak.

Mr Barker added: “Our friends, family and colleagues are sponsoring us, we just hope we can reach the top!”

When the trio are not preparing for the hike up Snowdon, they are used to managing clinical and dental waste disposal for hundreds of businesses and organisations across London and the South.

In May this year, 10-year-old twins from Eastcote became the youngest ever to climb the three Welsh peaks.
