TWO schools are celebrating after receiving their Ofsted results.

Brentford School for Girls, in Boston Manor Road, Brentford, and The Green School, in Busch Corner, Isleworth, received their results last Wednesday after a surprise visit from inspectors the week before.

Brentford School was graded good out of a possible four categories, inadequate, satisfactory, good and outstanding, and The Green School received an outstanding, a grade only 14 per cent of schools achieve.

Both schools saw a great improvement from previous reports and were praised for their involvement with the wider community and their GCSE results.

Brentford School sixth former Georgia Franks said: "My favourite subject is history and we have a great history department. My lessons are always interesting and I enjoyed studying the Russian Revolution so much that I have decided to study history at university next year."

Georgia added: "As a member of the prefect team I enjoy being actively involved in the community.

"We are currently selling cakes to raise money for the

sixth form ball."

Parents of Brentford pupils believe that encouragement and care from the school has enabled the children to do well.

Ofsted inspectors were also pleased with Brentford School's A-level results, with the sixth form students showing good progress.

However, headteacher Marais Leenders will not become complacent and wants to make her school even better.

She said: "Our vision is to move the school to outstanding."

Both headteachers said they were delighted with the reports as they represented the hard work put in by staff and students.
