A teenager thought to be around 18-years-old has been stabbed in Grenfell Road in Notting Hill this afternoon (March 5).

London Ambulance Service confirmed the man was conscious and breathing when they took him to hospital after being called to the scene at 2:15pm today.

Sergeant Neil Tanner talking at the scene, said: "He was a black male, around the age of 18 or 19. He was stabbed in the arm and it is non-life threatening. He was taken to hospital and we are now conducting CCTV enquiries."

No arrests have been made so far.

Our reporter on the scene described a trail of blood from Grenfell Road, along Bomore Road and up to Clarendon Road towards Nottingwood House.

A trail of blood was found outside Nottingwood House

The stabbing comes after an e-mail was leaked to the Chronicle saying police had stepped up patrols in the area following two stabbings earlier this year, believed to be linked to gang rivalry.

There is so far nothing to suggest the stabbing today is gang related.

The e-mail from Kensington and Chelsea Council's community safety officer, Mark Benbow said: "I was asked to attend a meeting with the police to be briefed on a rise in tensions between criminal networks operating in the north of the borough.

"Information I was given from the police said there has recently been some tension between several individuals from the borough and neighbouring boroughs linked to two stabbings - one on New Year’s Eve and the other a couple of weeks ago.

"As a precaution, increased police reassurance patrols are currently taking place in Notting Hill by constables and Police Community Support Officers. These patrols will continue over the weekend and into next week. If you have heard anything that you feel the police need to know about then please do call 101 and ask for the information to be emailed to the Grip and Pace Office at Kensington.”
