Tackling anti-social behaviour, promoting racial harmony and boosting education results are among the priorities for improving the borough of Harrow.

The government and Harrow Council have agreed a list of aims to tackle the area's most concerning and persistant issues.

Each local authority in England has worked with service providers, such as the police and Jobcentre Plus, to identify the main problems and will now plan how to solve them.

Their efforts will be monitored, with extra money available from Whitehall for those best fulfilling their aims.

Tessa Jowell MP,regional minister for London, said: "London boroughs have today set out a clear agenda for the next three years, and it is encouraging to see that the local authorities and their partners - from community groups to the police and NHS - now have clear priorities to focus on."
