As the London Assembly Member for West Central, I strongly welcome the announcement that air-conditioned tube trains will be introduced on to the Metropolitan Line in 2010, followed by the Circle and Hammersmith & City Lines in 2011 and the District Line in 2013.
With temperature-controlled carriages, my constituents will no longer endure sweltering heat on these tube trains.
The latest CCTV systems will be installed and with no doors between carriages, these trains will be safer and feel more spacious.
Boris Johnson is delivering on his aim of introducing air-conditioning on the tube. This will certainly be a great boon for my constituents and all Londoners.
