A a graffiti hotspot has been targeted by Ealing Council in a blitz against vandals.

Council officers teamed up with Ealing Broadway Business Improvement District (BID) to tackle Springbridge Road multistorey car park, in Haven Green.

A graffiti removal team blitzed the walls and CCTV was installed, before fencing was put in place earlier this month to stop graffiti taggers, who endanger themelves by being close to railway tracks and overhead electrical lines.

Environmental services leader Councillor Sue Emment said: "We're delighted that Ealing BID showed such support for what we were trying to achieve, and helped to make this happen."

Steve Breen, Ealing BID manager, said: "It is great to have such a high profile and dangerous site now secured from further access and damage, and the town centre looking much cleaner and more presentable as a result."
