Firefighters tackled a blaze behind shops in Hillingdon.

The fire broke out in outbuildings behind Marlborough Parade, Uxbridge Road at about 7.45pm on Tuesday, July 22, causing extensive damage.

One building was destroyed, says London Fire Brigade, and another one next to it was damaged. Nobody was hurt.

Fire engines from Hillingdon fire station – which is nearby in Uxbridge Road – and Southall fire station attended, and the blaze was under control within an hour.

The cause is still under investigation, says London Fire Brigade, which declined to say if any business had been affected by the fire or which business the building belonged to.
