A BIKER chick who wants to 'grow old disgracefully' has been raising smiles across west London as she dresses up for her journey to work.
Anne Merrett, 53, of Ferrers Avenue, in West Drayton, has been difficult to miss, as she jumps on her motorbike to make the trip to work in Feltham.
It is not only around the Easter period when she and her bike get a makeover.
At Christmas the vehicle is disguised as a festive tree, and Halloween is another good opportunity to get creative.
It is not all in the spirit of showmanship - Anne does it to raise awareness of her charity work.
Anne, who runs Anne and Paul's Feltham Wool Shop, makes all the outfits herself.
The 53-year-old, who has been riding bikes since 1978, said: "I love dressing up and making people laugh.
"I am growing old disgracefully. My husband puts up with it."
Talking about her charity work, she added: "There are organised runs at which we collect Easter eggs for The Variety Club, which gives them to children at hospitals and homes.
"This year, 200 of us gathered 4,200 eggs when we did The Reading Toy Run."
She plans to take part in the Race for Life, dressed as Eve with flesh-coloured tights, appropriately placed fig leaves and a toy snake.
Mrs Merrett said: "I am not really an exhibitionist - much! I just like making people smile."
