Uxbridge High Street was brought to life once again as BigFest came back for the 13th year.

BigFest 2015, organised and run by Hillingdon Council, saw a variety of street theatre performances and entertainment for all of the family arrive at the town centre.

The popular free event took place from noon to 4pm on Sunday (September 27).

It kicked off the council’s first month-long festival Culture Bite, which will see literature, arts and culture events popping up across the borough throughout October.

Councillor Douglas Mills, cabinet member for community, commerce and regeneration, said: “The council’s month of celebrations has taken off in spectacular style last Sunday with the BigFest Street Festival in Uxbridge High Street. With plenty of activities on display and a huge turnout, it was a fantastic time for friends and family alike.

“BigFest leads on to Culture Bite, which is held throughout October and will feature something for everyone, whether you’re into literature, arts or culture.

“We’re inviting everyone to take part in the activities. Come along to the events and get involved and we hope to see you there.”

Shoppers of all ages could enjoy a dress up photo booth, a circus skills workshop and arts and crafts, as well a cabinet of curiosities, the council’s StoryCamp and music on the Flower Stall Stage.
