Pupils of Belmont School will not be able to go to school tomorrow after a burst pipe has closed the school down for the second time in a month.

Parents and carers were texted informing them that a pipe had burst, and maintenance teams would need to be operating in the school, in Hibbert Road, Harrow Weald , much to the dismay of one parent, who wished not to be named.

He said: "Time and time again we are told our children cannot come into school because they've had a problem or a fault.

"It happened last month and it is now becoming a farce."

The reception class at the school also had their start to the term delayed after an asbestos discovery by builders over the summer .

A spokesman for Harrow Council said: "Obviously it is unfortunate that Belmont School is having to be closed due to a burst pipe.

"Our maintenance teams are working hard to resolve this problem as soon as possible."
