Friends of Bedfont Lakes Country Park have donated new life-saving equipment to rangers at the nature reserve.

The group funded a £1,500 defibrillator which was handed over to staff during the weekly 5km Bedfont Park Run on Saturday (August 1).

The defibrillator was presented by Christine Waters, chair of the Friends of Bedfont Lakes Country Park to Kayla Terry, the park's site manager.

The equipment will be located at the Bedfont Lakes information centre, at the Clockhouse Lane entrance, for use by the park community.

A defibrillator is used together with CPR when someone collapses from a cardiac arrest before paramedics arrive and can help save lives.

The defibrillator was funded following a suggestion by directors at the Bedfont Park Run.
