A BEAUTY queen from Alperton is using her looks to raise money for charities close to her heart.

Paris Marsh, of Woodside Avenue, is a finalist in the Face of London competition and is hoping to go to the European finals at Disneyland Paris.

The qualified nursery nurse is raising money for Rainbow Child Foundation, which helps impoverished children, and Headway East Kent, which supports people who have suffered head injuries and chosen because her father, Peter, suffered from a brain tumour in 2004, from which he made a full recovery.

The 19-year-old said: “It would mean so much to me if I get through the finals as it’s been something I've always been interested in and has already given me a great confidence boost and this could open many doors for me and my future.”

Miss Marsh, who works at a nursery in West Hampstead, continued: “I have had loads of support from the parents and kids at the nursery and the book sale we did was brilliant; the kids all made their own cakes. I didn’t expect to raise this much money and I never thought it would take off as well as it has.”

Miss Marsh has raised £700 through sales and raffles, teddy and book sales and is planning a sponsored cycle in a bid to reach her target of £1,000.

All this hard work will count towards her in the London final of the competition which is on Friday, September 7.
