Anti-academy protesters are bracing themselves for a standoff with the police and Brent Council after a court ordered them to leave the Bridge Road Recreation Ground.
Campaigners have been occupying the site of the proposed Wembley Academy for the past two weeks, but have been given an ultimatum to leave by 6pm tonight - or face hefty fines and even arrest.
Judges at Willesden County Court granted the local authority the eviction order this morning but the stubborn demonstrators have vowed not to move.
"We have no intention of giving up our fight against the disgraceful proposal," said Hank Roberts, who is spearheading the protests.
"We are not going to move from the site tonight.  If they arrest me so be it. If they fine me and take all my money so be it. If they imprison me so be it."
The group is campaigning against plans to build the academy on the site.
They say a school is needed in the south of the borough, rather than the north and the building would mean sports pitches on the site would no longer be used.
At today's hearing Mr Roberts was also fined £3,500 for trespassing on the council owned land.
He added: "Any thing and everything that can be done to stop this unjustified academy should be. If I suffer standing up for my principles, I will not be the first, or the last."
Once the protesters leave the recreation ground, the council will move on and start building a number of temporary class rooms so the academy's primary school can open in September. The permanent academy is set to be finished by September 2009.
