I AM writing to inform you that there is no such "truce" between local residents and the developers of the Chelsea barracks steel and glass tower blocks as reported (Kensington and Chelsea News, February 26).

The most active objectors, the Chelsea Barracks Action Group supporters, are still horrified at the thought of having the high density group of towers and are gravely concerned about their loss of light, privacy and amenity.

Supporters from outside the area who register their comments on www.chelseabarracks.org.uk are disgusted at the design by Rogers Stirk and Harbour which is more suited to CanaryWharf than to this iconic part of London, alongside the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

We will scrutinise the plans lodged by the developers and continue our battle to lower the overall heights to match what was there before and to push for a new design.

The Chelsea Barracks Action Group will put up a strong fight to stop another greedy developer ruining our lives.
