On April 15 I have been invited to perform at Belgrade's premier classical music venue, Guarnerius, to mark the launch of my debut album in Serbia and principally to be part of a series of concerts raising money for orphaned children in the city.
I have also been invited to talk about GigAid, a charitable social enterprise I founded in the UK in 2008, and the possibility of GigAid beginning in the previously war-torn city of Belgrade.
It is a unique and special opportunity for me,for my band and for GigAid.
However, having recently recorded and released my album independently, and founded GigAid with no commercial support, I currently do
not have a budget to fly my band to Belgrade.I am therefore asking for sponsorship for this trip and hoping that with a little financial help I can make the trip and make a difference in the three areas I've mentioned: my own music career,a very worthy charity there in Belgrade and finally, the non-profit work of GigAid.
To fund the trip, I need around £1,000, the cost of three flights from London to Belgrade, and the internal travel we will need to do.
There will be various other expenses on the trip, although I hope to self-fund those areas, and raise the additional finance with performances between now and the trip.
It is the flights and travel that are currently beyond me.
While in Belgrade I will be inter-viewed on national radio, television and printed media and therefore will have the opportunity to mention my sponsor's name should you require.
I will also be meeting with a number of international ambassadors and important business people from the city who are patrons of Guarnerius, so it is an opportunity to network with many of the movers and shakers of this rebuilding city.
I would be happy to connect my sponsor with these people should it be of interest.
I will need to have secured sponsorship by April 1, in order to confirm my acceptance of the invitation and follow through with all the plans surrounding the performance.Thank you.
