A BABY was injured when the car he was being carried in was in collision with a stationary bus in Stanmore.

Paramedics treated the 9-month-old boy for minor abrasions and a 42-year-old woman for chest pain, and checked over a 3-year-old girl who was with them in the dark coloured hatchback involved in the nose-to-tail collision with a double decker that had pulled over.

The crash happened at the westbound bus stop outside Carpetright in The Broadway at 2.25pm yesterday, close to the junction with Glebe Road.

Mike Weston, operations director at London Buses, said: “At around 14.29, a car collided with a stationary route H12 bus operated by Metroline at the Broadway in Stanmore.

"Emergency services attended the scene and treated three casualties who were not passengers on the bus. A full investigation will be carried out into this incident.”

London Ambulance Services took the family of three to Barnet Hospital in Barnet and Harrow Police shut part of The Broadway up until 4.50pm.
