Tireless fundraising has given Harefield children a new library packed with books to fuel their imaginations.

Harefield Junior School and the Friends of Harefield Junior School have been raising the money to build and stock a new school library.

Children’s author, Eamon Reilly, opened the library at the school in Park Lane on Monday with the help and organisation of librarian Marilyn Brocklehurst.

Staff and children can now order and borrow books using a new computer system.

Deputy headteacher Kellie Ryan said: “It was fantastic to have Eamon Reilly at Harefield Junior School. He was inspiring and had all of the children engaged and in awe of his books and achievements – it was amazing.”
