Our Tory councillors must be desperate if they have to rely on Ken Livingstone's discredited London Plan to force through the massive over-development of the council-owned Dickens Yard site.
The current local Ealing planning guidelines, prepared after rigorous public consultation, are explicit that any development should be less than half the size of what is proposed.
Thousands of local residents have taken the trouble to write to the council opposing the size of the proposed development.
English Heritage and CABE, who are statutory consultees and should
therefore be heeded, are both against the scale, density and design of the council's proposals.
I urge readers to write to Boris Johnson and ask him to exercise his discretionary powers to reverse this planning travesty.
