A vandal whose graffiti has cost the council more than £500,000 to remove has been given an anti-social behaviour order (ASBO).

Anthony Bryan, 18, of Avondale Drive, Hayes, has been given the order for two years, and as part of its conditions he cannot travel on the upper deck of any bus within the M25 radius.

His family have also been served a notice by Hillingdon Council which could lead to eviction from their council house if further incidents occur.

PC Sarah Fox, who worked with the council's property arm, Hillingdon Homes, to obtain the ASBO, said: "Following many complaints of criminal damage regarding residential and business premises, Hillingdon Police, Hillingdon Homes and the local authority worked together to bring this offender to justice.

"Graffiti is a mindless act of vandalism and affects people's quality of life.

"Those responsible should know we have an extensive database of 'tags' and they will be identified and pursued through the legal system."

Tim Price, chief executive of Hillingdon Homes, said: "We're pleased to work with police and the local authority to get results like this.

"Our continuing work to eradicate anti-social behaviour will help to improve local communities and reduce environmental crime."
