Butts Farm residents are being asked to help enforce an ASBO imposed on a man jailed for two years for his part in a 'campaign of mindless violence' carried out on the estate.

Mark Eastwood, 39, was released today after serving a 29-month sentence for attacking a man in Barnlea Close, Hanworth, with his son, also called Mark, and nephew, Noah, who were both aged 17 at the time.

The victim was repeatedly kicked whilst he lay on the floor and a woman who tried to help him was also attacked. Both victims required hospital treatment for their injuries.

During their trial in September 2006, the judge said the trio had persistently terrorised the estate, while officers praised residents' bravery for taking the stand against the men.

All three were sentenced on September 20 for the attack, which took place on April 1, and Mark senior, previously of Towfield Road, was also given a three-year post-conviction Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO).

The ASBO prohibits Mark Eastwood from:
• Remaining on any premises or adjoining private land on the Butts Farm Estate after being asked to leave by a person with authority or responsibility for those premises or land.
•Committing any acts of anti-social behaviour,  namely threatening, abusive or violent behaviour which causes or is likely to cause harassment alarm or distress to any person or persons on Butts Farm Estate.
•Encourage, entice or assist any persons to commit any acts of anti-social behaviour namely threatening abusive or violent behaviour which causes or is likely to cause harassment alarm or distress to any person or persons on Butts Farm Estate.

To help enforce the ASBO police are asking the public to contact them on 0208 577 1212 or  via email on TX-BIU@met.police.uk if they witness any breaches of the ASBO issued by the court.

Sgt Lindsay Chapman, of Hanworth safer neighbourhood team, said: "We'll be monitoring the situation closely and working with Mr Eastwood and others to stop history from repeating itself."
