A coordinated police operation led to the arrest of 40 suspected criminals.

Hundreds of police officers from both Harrow and Brent were involved in Operation Big Wing, with more than 1,200 activities conducted by officers and staff, and 240 warrants executed on premises across the capital.

In Harrow, 17 were arrested while in Brent, 23 were arrested, all involved in the seven key crimes set by MOPAC which officers were targeting including violence with injury, robbery, theft person, burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, theft from a motor vehicle and criminal damage.

Commander Steve Watson, leading the operation, said: “The impressive results from Operation Big Wing demonstrate our unwavering commitment to driving down crime and its generators in London.

"We are here to serve the public, and this activity will act as a warning to those intent on breaking the law and engaging in criminal activity that we will do everything we can to stop them, and wherever possible put them before the courts to make London safer for our communities.”
