THE runner-up in the latest series of The Apprentice, Chris Bates, visited Kingston College last week.

The 23-year-old talked to a group of travel and tourism students at the college, in Kingston Hall Road, about his experiences on the BBC show.

He was asked questions including what the fellow contestants were like, and whether Lord Sugar was the same in real life as he appeared on TV.

He said: "He is very direct and very fair, which makes him the ideal boss in many ways. It was a really intense process living with people you worked with every day and having cameras follow you around all of the time.

"But it was such a fantastic experience and I learned a lot about business in a really short time.

"There are things I would have done differently but in all honesty I felt I carried myself with integrity. You are going to make mistakes in business - that is just part and parcel."
