A FINALIST on the BBC’s The Apprentice took to a Fulham wine school to boost his CV after missing out on the £250,000 investment prize.
Tom Gearing failed to convince Lord Alan Sugar to team up with him for his wine investment fund business plan in the popular reality show earlier this year.
Undeterred, he decided to increase his qualifications at the Fulham branch of localwineschool.com, where he recently passed his level two award.
Tom said: “My CV had come under fire during the interview process. My father had worked in the wine industry and I grew up with lots of knowledge about France, but being on The Apprentice made me realise people are reassured by the professional qualifications. The tutor was hugely entertaining and very professional.
“My expertise is in French wines, but I learned a lot about wines from New World countries like California, Chile and Argentina, which I had never really focused on before.”
