I’ve got a lot to tell you about this week and, at the top of the list, is Porscha.

It’s possible that in her short life so far, the number of times she has been put first is limited and this is definitely her turn to be the star.

Porscha is a one year old tortoiseshell cat who was found as a stray in January.  She is laid-back and lovely.  But, when it comes to being re-homed, she is constantly overlooked. Apart from one other cat, she is now the cat who has been waiting the longest time at Southall Cat Adoption Centre for a new home.  When I saw her, I took her a little present – a catnip mouse which she loved.

If you are able to offer Porscha a home phone 0300 123 0746 or go and see her at the RSPCA’s Cat Adoption Centre, Burket Close, off Norwood Rd, Southall UB2 4JS.

Remember to look out for her at the Adoption Centre’s Open Day. This takes place on 8th September 11am -3pm and is always a good day out.

Another great event I’m looking forward to is a Charity Fashion Show which is taking place in aid of Hounslow Animal Welfare Society.

The Show is fully compered with music and lasts about 1 hour after which there will be time to try clothes on. The Show includes ladies clothes from M&S, Next, Principles and Oasis. All items are surplus stock and have at least 30-60% off. It takes place on Monday 10th September at 8pm at Avenue Hall, St Lukes, The Avenue, Kew, TW9 2 AJ.  Admission is £5 in advance or £6 on the door. Tickets and more details available from www.haws-animals.org.uk

Finally, following the stray dog that I found on July 16th which I handed over to Ealing Council and which became ill and was put to sleep eleven days later (Ealing Gazette 24th August), as promised, I am in the process of finding out more details of what happens to stray dogs in our borough.  Amongst other aspects, I’m particularly interested in the re-homing process.  I’ve asked the Council for this information and I’ll keep you informed.
